50 Cent50 Cent will release his next album on an indie label.

The "Candy Shop" hitmaker has severed ties with Eminem's Interscope imprint, Shady Records, after 12 years and will now be working with Caroline, a music distributor owned by Universal, starting with his album Animal Ambition, which is due out on June 3.

"I recorded so many album quality songs that I'm going to put the Animal project out as my viral marketing plan and then [Street King] will come out after. [Animal Ambition] is about prosperity ... ambition and prosperity," the star said in a statement.

The 38-year-old rapper has sold millions of albums for Interscope, including 15-million copies of his debut record, but the star's relationship with the label has been difficult since 2009's Before I Self Destruct, which failed to conquer the charts.

Lana Del Rey and Dan AuerbachLana Del Rey's new album Ultraviolence is being produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach.

The "National Anthem" singer took to Twitter yesterday to post a picture of herself sitting on the lap of the rock frontman and Grammy Award winning producer. She teased fans by writing alongside the snap, "Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence."

Dan has produced records for a number of artists including The Growlers, Hanni El Khatib and Dr. John, and the picture hints that he has been working with Lana on the follow-up to Born to Die in 2012, her second studio album.

Ultraviolence is rumored to be released on May 1, after the singer accidentally told a fan the release date, whilst signing an autograph.

Miley CyrusMiley Cyrus has hit back at critics who have called for her Bangerz Tour to be canceled.

The 21-year-old singer kicked off her raunchy world tour in Vancouver, Canada, last week and has come under fire for antics such as simulating a sex act on a man wearing a Bill Clinton mask, but Miley insists she gave fans a pre-warning her shows would be X-rated.

"You can't say I didn't warn you. Now sit back relax & enjoy the show. #bangerztour [sic]," she wrote on Twitter yesterday. The tweet was accompanied by a picture of Miley on stage in a revealing outfit exposing her butt.

The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker then blasted her critics by telling them to "save" their outrage. "Save your complaints for the McDonalds drive thru when they forget the 'fries with that' [sic]," she quipped.

Johnny MarrJohnny Marr insists that The Smiths would have only signed to Factory Records over his "dead body."

The guitarist claims rumors they were refused a deal by Tony Wilson's famous label in the 1980s were a "crock of sh*t" and the band preferred being signed to London's Rough Trade.

"If you were a musician in Manchester at that time, it was almost the law that you went on your hands and knees and begged Tony Wilson for his papal blessing to stick you in the studio, and I wasn't about to do that. So much has been made of Factory apparently turning The Smiths down, but that's a crock of sh*t. The Smiths would have signed to Factory over my dead body ... I didn't want to be assimilated into the Factory aesthetic. Before we knew it, we would've had side-partings and khaki shorts, with bongos round our necks ... No disrespect to A Certain Ratio," he told NME.

The musician also said The Smiths - including Morrissey, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce - looked like a band "all the f***ing time" and their jeans were specially manufactured by their manager, Joe Moss.

Pharrell WilliamsPharrell Williams is set to release his new album G I R L next month.

The "Happy" singer, who is preparing for his performance at the BRITs tonight, will release his new record on Monday, March 3 through Columbia Records.

"When Columbia Records presented me with the opportunity to make an album, three things came to mind. One was the sense of overwhelming honor that I felt when I realized that they were interested in partnering with me on the album that I had always dreamed of making. Two, it would have to feel festive and urgent. And three, I instantly knew it would be called G I R L," he said, adding, "I hope you like it."

G I R L is Pharrell's first record in eight years and is set to be released earlier than planned after the success of his single "Happy," and insiders have described it as "incredible."

David BowieDavid Bowie's producer claims there are "astounding" tracks left over from recording sessions for the singer's 2013 album, The Next Day.

Tony Visconti spoke at the Music Producers Guild Awards on Friday, where he collected Bowie's innovation honour on the artist's behalf, and said
"two or three" unreleased tracks could be released. According to the BBC, he said he and Bowie were "very excited" by the reaction to the comeback album, which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

"We were very excited with the reaction. Honestly I was in a daze for the first week, because keeping a secret for two years took quite a lot of lying. I almost started believing my own stories! No one believed that David Bowie was going to make another album and so the timing was perfect, because everyone kind of gave up on him," he said.

RihannaRihanna has been offered a settlement of over $10 million in her legal battle against her former accountants.

The "Diamonds" hitmaker had taken action against Peter Gounis and his firm Berdon LLP, claiming their poor financial advice had led to her losing a reported $9 million in 2009, and though she was initially suing for $35 million, the New York Post newspaper claims the firm have offered a settlement and the paperwork to end the case will be signed later this week.

In her claim, Rihanna - whose real name is Robyn Fenty - said the firm advised her to buy a $7 million house, even though they knew she was "bleeding cash."

"The defendants advised Ms. Fenty by e-mail that purchasing a home in Los Angeles 'would be a good investment' despite knowing Ms. Fenty was experiencing financial difficulties," her lawyer Edward Estrada wrote in legal documents.

Black Eyed PeasBlack Eyed Peas are set to return next year.

The "I Gotta Feeling" group - will.i.am, Fergie, apl.de.ap and Taboo - are getting back together for their first studio album and tour since The Beginning in 2010. "The Black Eyed Peas are all in agreement they should put a new tour on for the fans - it's not like they properly split when they parted for a hiatus in 2012. This time around they're going to head back into the studio and lay down a new album quickly and then hit the road once again. Will.i.am has been instrumental in persuading all the Peas to get back into shape and hit the road again," a source said.

The source says new mother Fergie - who has five-month-old son Axl Jack with her husband Josh Duhamel - has been holding the process up. "Fergie's been stalling and wants to hold out for as much money as she can guarantee. She's got a baby now and needs it to be a very worthy amount to make her take her baby on the road," the insider added.
